The very popular yester year playback singer P B Srinivas has sung more than two thousand songs in 12 Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. For the last few days his health condition was very critical.
He was undergoing treatment in his residence at CIT Colony in Chennai. Yesterday he had a sudden cardiac arrest and passed away. He is aged in 82. The late P B Srinivas was born on 22nd September 1934. He was born in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. When play back singer T M Soundararajan was in peak, P B Srinivas was ranking next to him. P B Srinivas was well known for his innovative singing.
His songs are evergreen and still linger in one’s mind. Some of his popular songs include Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham and Mayakkama Thayakkama.
Srinivas, who started singing from 1955, had rendered many a popular hit and was the main playback singer for late Tamil veteran actor Gemini Ganesan and Kannada actor Rajkumar in his heydays.
Majority of the people from various film and music industries mourned the death of the legendary singer.
