Actor-director Prabhu Deva is in the eye of a storm from the Hindu Makkal Katchi as the outfit claimed that he had been insensitive towards the ongoing tension surrounding the Sri Lankan genocide issue.

Prabhu Deva, who is shooting his upcoming film RaamaiyaVastavaiya starring Girish Kumar and ShrutiHaasan had also included Jacqueline Fernandez as part of the cast.

The issue being raised by the Hindu Makkal Katchi is also of the inclusion of the Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the film. At the time when many political groups have been insisting on a trade ban between the two countries, Prabhu Deva's inclusion of the actress has irked many, despite the fact that the Sri Lankan beauty queen has been a part of Bollywood since 2009.

Raamaiya Vastavaiya is the remake of the Telugu original Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. The film was also remade in Tamil as Unakkum Enakkum, with Jayam Ravi and Trisha in the lead.
